Sled Hockey Nationals Coming to the Atlantic District

Tom Brake writes, "From January 31 to February 3, 2003, the Atlantic District will be hosting an Invitational National Championships for Sled Hockey. We are looking for officials to volunteer their time for this worthy cause."

"We will be having adult as well as youth teams coming in from around the country and would like to show what a good officating program we have. I will start to schedule these games in January. Please contact me at tbrake@snip.net if you would to participate "

Membership Database Access Rolled Out to Atlantic District Administrators

Dave Aiello wrote, "After overcoming a number of technical problems, I finished the necessary changes to the AAHArefs Membership Database, and have started issuing passwords to officiating administrators throughout the district. Within the last 24 hours, over 70 administrators have received instructions to access the database."

"If you need access to the database and have not received a user name and password in your email, please send an email to aaha_feedback@ctdata.com. Please include your name, email address, phone number, and the reason you need access to the database."

I Have Access to the Database, How Do I Use It?

Dave Aiello wrote, "On behalf of the management of AAHArefs, welcome to the most sophisticated hockey officiating website in the world."

"You have been issued a password to the AAHArefs administration system primarily so that you can access the membership database. You will find the membership database under the link labeled Officiating Member Database on the sidebar. This is the official USA Hockey officiating member database. It's the database that should be used to determine an official's registration status, or to find the contact information for an official."

"As you can see, we have over 2400 officials registered in the Atlantic District for the 2002-2003 season, so we need to provide some tools to help you get value out of such a large amount of information. We will add at least a few more ways to search the Officials database in the next few days. So come back periodically."

"The other main database all administrators can access is New Officials. This is the database that contains contact information for people who signed up for seminars but were not registered officials last season. Most of these people have registered with USA Hockey by now, so you will also see their information in the main Officials database. You should only use the 'New Officials' database if you cannot find a person in the main 'Officials' database. A listing in the 'New Officials' database does not imply any official registration status with USA Hockey."

"Finally, I want to explain the Managing AAHArefs section of the website. This is a series of articles that explain how to use the administrative section of this website. Only authorized administrators like you can access these articles."

"When we have an announcement to make or some common questions to answer about the administrative section of the site, we will post it here. You can see the number of articles in the section and the date of the last update in the 'Managing AAHArefs' link itself. Please take a look at this section of the database whenever you login."

"Shane Hanlon and I are the primary administrators of this website at this time. If you have questions for us, please email us at aaha_feedback@ctdata.com. If you experience a technical problem, please email me at dave_aiello@ctdata.com."

Thanks,

Dave Aiello
