Congratulations to the six Atlantic District officials who were selected to work in the Chicago Showcase tournament last week. All six officials were appointed to work Medal Round games!

Samantha Dorney worked as a Linesman in the Girls' semifinals. Danielle Bugge and Kate Connolly worked as the Linesmen in the Girls' Finals. Marty Kilcourse and Mike Schubert worked as Linesmen in the Boys' Semifinals. Bill Maurer worked as the Referee in the Boys' Finals.

In addition, Kate Connolly won the Chet Stewart Outstanding Female Official Award at the Showcase.

I am sorry to inform you that Dick Trimble has suffered a heart attack and passed away late Friday afternoon.

Dick was very involved with USA Hockey for many years. He was very active in the Officiating Program and the Coaching Program. Dick was instrumental in some early officiating seminars in the District, and was the first District Officiating Evaluation Coordinator. He also served as District Coaching Program Director. From 1982 to 2004, he was the NHL Supervisor of Off-Ice Officials for the New Jersey Devils.
