Jim Doyle Appointed Atlantic District Referee-in-Chief

The AAHA is proud to announce that Jim Doyle (Medford, NJ) has been appointed by USA Hockey to serve as the Atlantic District's Referee-in-Chief effectively immediately. Jim brings tremendous experience to the position including a previous 4-year stint as District RIC ending in 1999.

Jim has been serving as a Supervisor of Officials for the ECHL and the AHL for the last ten seasons. He has officiated in over 1300 professional (ECHL and AHL) games, was NHL trainee for four season and worked the 1980's Olympics as well. Jim is very familiar with many of the challenges that we face at the grassroots level, as he has been involved with various functions within the AAHA's officiating community over the last 40 years.

We extend our gratitude to Leo Boylan for his exemplary service to the Atlantic District. Leo has committed to providing whatever transitional support that is needed and we are confident that Leo will continue to contribute to the Officiating program in meaningful ways. Many thanks to Leo.

"I am excited to return in order to contribute to the growth and development of today's officials for USA Hockey in the Atlantic District. I look forward to working with the District, League Administrators, League RIC's and the Coaching & Officiating community in order to enhance the experience for all of our participants", stated Doyle.

We would also like to thank our Selection Committee for their work in this process as well all the applicants, as their contributions to amateur hockey in the Atlantic District are immeasurable. We also extend our thanks to USA Hockey for their support in this process.

Please give Jim a few days to settle into his new responsibilities.

Once again...CONGRATULATIONS to Jim Doyle.

Regards,
Glenn Hefferan
